The Storm

The moon shown down upon the waves.
A maiden strummed her lyre sweet.
The surf raced up across the sands
About her ankles, toes and feet.

I listened while she plucked the frets,
And sang the song of her regrets;
Of heaving breasts and surging hips
And nurture of an infant's lips.
