This is a poem for anyone who has ever felt like they aren't good enough.
Stop

The gentle hands
Softly speak to the world,
Raised far above her head,
She asks for all to stop.
Stop with what you don’t know!
Stop with judging,
And criticizing.
Stop with your vain words.
And pretending,
Stop making us question ourselves.
Stop thinking we're fine,
When you push us around,
And when you degrade us.
Stop making us think we, ourselves are not okay.
That we must be perfect,
Like people on TV;
Thin and flawless.
Stop making us think this how we should be.
Start helping us realize we are just fine.
Start lifting us up, to what we can be.
Start helping us to be ourselves.
“Please stop, and start to try.”
The girl solemnly whispers to the world.
