The life of an unneeded supply of leftovers
Tonight i am only a left over
Shoved in the back
Of the bottom shelf of your fridge
Only to be kept there
Until I become unnecessary
Because we both know
I will be left untouched until then

I am not your favorite food
And you did not take me with you
Because you wanted more of me later
It was a pity rescue
Because the thought of food going to waste
Gurgles your stomach
But does not give you the courage
To leave me behind

You are a collector of the unneeded
And eventually I will be put to waste
Or was I a waste to begin with
Because your eyes exceeded your stomach
And you took more than you could handle
So until I become the wretched nuisance
In the back of your ice box with needed assistance
I will wait here until I am noticed
And disguarded at the cost of your overindulgence
