A poem about the relationship between the sand and waters at the beach
Pleasantly I watch the waves,
each rolling of the tide another bite of sandy earth.
Salty teeth swallow thousands of tiny shards of glinting glass.
Waves of salty soldiers crash upon the shore.
Quickly they make their retreat back to their frothy,
bluish green battalions.
They carry with them the plunder of tiny castles.
Safe in the rocking of the ocean they regroup and multiply,
secretly planning their next attack.
Seagulls look upon the battle from high in the sky.
The sun peaking from behind a cloud blesses both sides,
with its warmth and light,
content to both be and see, and wait for the night and stars.
