The man she dreams of when she's with me.
She says her dreams are all of him,
All that they could be
His touch, his kiss, his perfect form,
It’s all there when she sleeps.

Then her lips brush past mine
Because he isn’t here
She’s left with me to keep her warm
To keep away the fear

Of loneliness and sorrow
Of life lacking in love
So she settles upon me
For he’s too far above.

If only I was him,
If only she loved this,
My touch, My kiss, My lacking form
Why can’t she love what is?

For I am sitting next to her,
Overwhelmed, in love
And she is still speaking of him,
This man that she dreams of.
