I was not there but I at least owe her one for giving me my love.
Katrina

Thought you were a gust of wind
Another angry storm
rushing through the night
A silent torrent of eerie twist
We owe you one
Katrina

A fury fashioned face
Your name so sweet
How d'you come to be that way
How come, how come
Katrina

In you crept
While we slept
You tore down walls
And watched us fall
We owe you one
Katrina

Tears you shed
A city bled
Washed us out
Sweet your name
We owe you one
Katrina

We can't forget you
Though many will
You scored our hearts
That bitter pill
We owe you one
Katrina

A giant tantrum
you threw our way
And a hot breeze
we saw that day
Calamity, emotion, rage!
We owe you one
Katrina

Many, many of us lost
So few now to remember
You took my heart across the seas
In search of other dreams
I owe you one
Katrina

Those of us still here
Refuse to leave
You cannot push us out!
Our bones too strong
Our blood too thick
This one's for you
Katrina

We made you famous
That's what we do
It's party time again
Mardi Gras, jazz and blues
Jambalaya cooking
No thanks to you
Retched harlot that you were
To hell with you!
Katrina
