Just one of those mornings.
The dream ended with a cliffhanger;
Just like the books you read
The alarm sings its siren song;
Begs you to rise
Throw back the grenade of time across room
Like a loyal slave it returns five minutes time
This time the cold buzz cuts through you ears;
Arrives sternly at your eyes
Sit up in your old lonely bed
It creaks and pops pleading;
Pleading to be free of another sleepless night
Scramble for the remote the television flickers
It flashes and flutters the morning news;
It holds images of war and loss
The romances of gun fire are not the beauty;
Not the beauty you wanted to wake next to
But in the sad act of irony in its cruelest form is that;
It is the most peaceful part of your day
