the war within the peace of mind is love
You can’t fool me.
Your lies are nothing more than
Skeletons with faces;
They have no flesh
And they dare not breathe
Life.

You can’t win me.
Your skills are nothing more than
Birds with briefcases;
They have no home
And they dare not settle
Down.

You can’t hold me.
Your arms are nothing more than
Towers with cracks;
They have no structure
And they dare not stand
Strong.

You can’t entertain me.
Your thoughts are nothing more than
Rivers with boulders;
They have no rhythm
And they dare not flow
Clear.

You can’t love me.
Your intentions are nothing more than
Hallways with ghosts;
They have no doors
And they dare not lead
Anywhere.
