I found a nice top hat at the Goodwill, reminded me of that good ol game, Monopoly.
My Monopoly Hat

I don’t do it much, but I did it this day,
Went shopping at Goodwill, is that considered gay?
I wasn’t looking for much, nothing in particular,
Went with some friends, which wasn’t peculiar

I saw a hat, a beautiful black top hat!
If it would only fit, I knew what I’d do with that
But I have a big head; chances are it was too small
But I walked over to it, had to try it on after all

Imagine my surprise when it fit perfectly,
It reminded me of that board game, Monopoly.
You remember the one, Boardwalk and Park Place
And Mr. Moneybags with his mustachioed face

And the playing pieces; the battleship and race car,
The wheelbarrow, cannon, could it shoot very far?
But it was a game that always lasted so long,
We’d finally lose interest, and off we’d be gone

I finally doffed the hat, had been daydreaming once more,
Decided not to buy it; embarrassed, I headed for the door
But my friend had seen it on me, and knew it fit just right,
And bought it for me to wear, that Halloween night

There was a costume party we planned to attend,
With my new top hat, maybe I’d start a trend
He went as Frankenstein, how normal is that,
While I looked quite dapper in my black top hat

As fate would have it, we met there that night
Partying as ‘Moneybags’, I almost caused a fight
Some guy was yelling, calling you names
For arriving dressed up, as a beautiful dame.

I defended you which he objected loudly to,
He didn’t like my instant attraction to you
But you must have felt it as you smiled and said,
“Hey Abe, that’s a really nice hat on your head.”

I explained to you about the hat and Monopoly
Once again you smiled, then glided next to me
“This man’s mine!” You exclaimed to them all,
“He’s Mr. Moneybags, now we’re off to the ball.”

Thirty years have passed since that night of games,
When Mr. Moneybags fell in love with that beautiful dame
As I sit and remember all this, there’s one thing I know,
I love you more now, than just a day ago.
