A poem entered in the Circle of Light Campfire
The Power of Kindness

I prayed and asked God for the strength to go on.
So many trials were upon me, I felt so alone.
I couldn't hear His answer for a long, long time.
My life was out of rhythm, I could not feel the rhyme.

He gave me faith to follow what I read from His Word.
I listened with my heart, and this is what I heard.
"I will always be there when you need a helping hand.
Someone will be sent to you to give you strength to stand."

God always keeps His promise, for He never speaks in vain.
I trusted God to help me, though I continued to feel pain.
One day I met someone who must have seen right through me.
She invited me to sit with her and have a cup of tea.

She was just an ordinary lady, a mother and a wife.
How did she know about the turmoil in my life?
We talked as if we knew each other; she seemed to understand.
I realized that our meeting was just as God had planned.

So never underestimate the power inside of you,
and strive to show kindness in everything you do.
The Lord often shows His work in mysterious ways.
You may change another's life by a simple caring phrase.
