My first attempt as an imagism poem.
The Fence Post

A lone post
Keeps its vigil

Solid wood
Aged but strong

Rusted barbed wire
Dangling down

Standing on the peak
Of a slope covered
In deadened stalks of grass

The soft blue sky
Shining brightly behind

A single remnant
Of a long gone fence

Standing alone
On a hill
