Inspired by a piece of art, written for a competition.
Waves crashing,
teeth gnashing.
Held motionless by fear,
nothing in the nothingness.

Heart
beat
still --
spine rattled by a chill.

Staring into the numbing abyss,
as death's cold hand begins to caress.
All alone,
nothing in the nothingness.

Heart
beat
still --
losing all will.

Everything is now worthless,
fighting it has no purpose.
The last breaths come as bubbles,
nothing in the nothingness.
