Both very literal and metaphorical.
Oh, these warm mornings

How they remind me of summer,

And summer so much reminds me of home.

Every day something new.

Every day someone grew.

But winter returned too quickly

And hard times fell on us once again.

But I'm glad for it, really,

For the difficult days bring a friend,

A gift from God: opportunity.

All the while, though, I can't help but wish

For those hot days where there was rest

And love was watered and grew.

I guess I'll have to be patient and wait through these struggles.

I know I'll find rest for my soul there, in summer,

But for now I have work to do.

What a loving, gentle friend have I.

I did not complete my work.

But after the cold melted away into spring,

He graciously brought the summer.

And along with it all the things I desired but

Kept locked away in my heart.

When winter rolls around again I'll be prepared

To come down from the mountain and into the

Battle grounds that are the "world".

Summer is nice and winter makes us all

Appreciate it all the more.

Once again we shall laugh and be joyous,

May we learn to take it with us

For God created both the winter and the summer.
