A tribute to my Therapist when the therapeutic relationship came to an end.
I was your client.

What were you to me?

The stranger at the gate of broken pathways,

Appointed sojourner on my road,

Listener to my fugue’s disturbing dissonance.

Gentle priest of the deep spaces

Between the worlds of spirit and the flesh,

Who like Melchizadek, appeared upon the landscape - a wanderer

Proclaiming promises only time could prove.

Myth Teller

Dream Breaker

Spell Binder

Guardian at the edge of time – time,

Running down its sands at Sylvia’s grave.

Psychopomp - searcher for the troubled soul -

Orator of the liminal gate,

Telling the boundaries of my hell-bound descent.

Bright star at the soul’s dark hour,

Silent Prophet of the days ahead.

Soft heart at the edge of pain,

Archangel’s trumpet at the resurrection day.

Companion of Emmaus Road,

Drawing near when dark shadows touched the heart.

Paraclete

Comforter.

Interpreter of the tortured canvas

Great physician

Redeemer of the years the locusts ate

Untangler of the knotted tapestry

Friend of the hostile places

Affirmer of dreams

Builder of the gate

Gentle voice in Bedlam days

Advocate, Exorcist,

Priest - revealing god without a beard.

Shepherd on my god-forsaken hills,

You showed me home.

Man-friend.

Annam Cara.

The Shaman took the captive Condor

Threw him to the thermals

And his forgotten skies.
