About a man who has lost his soul & will miss his wife when she is in heaven & he is not.
"Lost"

I was good once,
holy, righteous & true,
but it didn't work for me
the way it worked for you.

I would pray and repent,
I would beg & plead
but found only time wasted,
while down on my knees.

I'm glad you have love,
I'm pleased you have peace.
I have sex & booze,
and my sweet release.

You sing, you praise,
you have amazing grace.
I lust, I covet,
I have amazing hate.

At last when you reach
those great pearly gates,
I hope you'll remember
your earthly mate.

Throughout eternity
we may be apart,
but even in Hell,
you'll be in my heart.
