Designer's Imitation

the lights are dimmed
walls roared of rock records
and she step a new espadrilled-feet
attention stealer. party queen strikes back again. ha-ha.

some of them turned back
throwing her "the look" deep her core
penetrating green eyes rimmed of Diorshow
green of envy, I guess. nice.

then, she put down her bag
a London tartan pattern
so  fresh from the maker
anyone near could sniff the juicy label
"somebody check the serial number"
and she tugged into it guiltily, hiding the content

though others don't pay her a damn
the group spritzed of Joy and Chance
but pretty sure they will never share
some bit of fashion info with her
thus she will never know that Gabrielle the French orphan is Coco
and Louis was long gone dead
or that the great YSL was sharing a cup of tea with him a couple of years ago
and it is Marc Jacobs now
who actually put personal touches  to the infamous trunks and bags
why? the green eyes drifted back to their glasses. let alone somebody else visible tag.
"hey, mine's bigger."

some of them knew her
from the pages of the cheap local tabloid
dumped by her politician lover
for spooning her onion and cheese soup in an inward motion
let them talk. it won't kill.

now, she got up for a Midori
not too strong. just a little expensive to let others see.
swaying a Hermes scarf behind her
which they can conveniently pull both end together
but good enough they don't see
give thanks to the crazy light
the stray thread left unnoticed by those scrutinizing eyes
wishing some luck. entertaining.

she was confused in her spot
for Versace chic bumped into her
without a second glance and went on
to fetch her paramour of black and nothing
brat!

she passed a horde of fashionistas
the modern day Audrey Hepburns
behind over sized Chanel sunglasses despite the envelope of dark
hiding mischievous eyes
snickering in expensive cocktail dresses
Parisian label? Italian maybe.

now an intricately sign complimented her back
"first class social climber", it says.
world class bitches don't ya dare mess with me...
