A poem that shows a mother's thoughts.
Dear Child

Dear child,
I watch you sleep.
Your face is like pure joy.
I wonder what you’ll dream tonight.
And if you wake, will an angel be there
to take you to calm, white clouds
that carry you up high,
then back to me.
Dear child.

This is a Rictameter poem with syllables that increase by 2 up to 10 and then decrease by 2. (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2) The final line is same as the first.
