Our black saddened sky
cries sour tears
As the fading clouds
breathe poison fumes.
& mechanical tyrants
toast with iron-cups
In celebration
of mankind’s progress.
Golden teeth smile greed
as oil stains their lips:
Sipping the blood
of our planet earth has
NEVER been so fulfilling.

Cancerous growths
Plague human minds
Tying a noose out of nerves.
Our Human ideas shine;
conceptions of bulbs overhead.
As carbon fumes
pour from our ears.
We’ll burn black coal
To power our intuitions,
To power our institutions
To power us in chaos.

Through rapid advance–
Our world’s conquered
We’ve defeated disease,
Built buildings
high as heaven,
landed on the moon,
with one small step for man,
to the inevitable gallows.
We’ve come so far,
yet we fail to realize
that bulb overhead,
shining bright ideas
is the last light we’ll see.
