A poem about temptation and the fear of honesty. Lies masked to hide beauty beneath.
What guards the door?

A tremendous beast!

To be sure,

Masked truths lay beneath.

Furthermore, a spiders web!

With silken threads,

Intricately woven,

To shield the monster’s head.

Only truth can slay this evil,

That looms and blocks our way,

Embracing one’s freedom,

By throwing norms away.

I may not share your weapon,

That you use to fight this through,

But I share insight and the desire,

To begin something anew.

Not trapped in the spider’s web,

Or guarded by the beast,

Who rears it’s ugly head,

When one expects it least.

This door cannot be opened,

By any individual soul,

One must choose wisely,

With whom they’ll face the ghoul.

No way to avoid it,

No other pass to chose,

But to partner with your kin,

To break the ugly ruse.
