Dear boys: Yes, our nails do have to shine. Sincerely, Girls.
Nails.

Every long, boring Sunday,

When the Monday comes too close,

And the homework becomes too much,

A girl will start thinking about other things...

In the row of shopping and boys,

Make-up, clothes and making noise,

Mobile phones and loving mails,

Another subject shows up...

Nails!

At once your nails look way too short,

Ugly and a little pale.

They really have to be done in detail.

Your mirror image looks a little guilty back at you,

What about all the good things you should do?

Tidy up your room,

Learning your French...

I’m sorry, but first my nails have to glance.

Take the nail polish,

Take the nail file,

I’m going to need them for a while!

Purple, pink, blue or red,

Which colour should I get?

Maybe purple in three types,

Marking every nail with stripes.

Little glitters in the corner,

Little patrons at the side,

Everything has to be bright and right.

When the nails are finally done,

Having my last inspection,

Seeing that everything is perfect to perfection.

And when they’re as dry as sand,

I’m totally happy with my hand.

Take a last look at my nails,

Which are smiling back at me.

But then I realise the undone homework...

Which will always be a girl’s enemy.
