In and out, with the breath, through the nose and the lips. In and out.

Just the air, in and out, breathing with you
In and out, through the nose and lips, air moves
Into you, into me, inside us it blew:
Past and future within us, our fool muse.
Unconscious, we exist only in half-truths
And subconscious touches that shiver through
Like a gentle rain patters on slate roofs
Brushes the edges of what we think is true.

Out with the breath, the ritual continues
On its rotational pattern of in and out.
It is with this that my soul is imbued,
A constant motion within and without.
I am back to thinking. I exist now.
Next to you I am real and you are too,
Too lovely, too perfect, too cruel, too proud.
In and out, out and in, I lie with you.

And sweet air, in and out, you breathe, I listen.
In and out, in and out, in, out and in.
