The darkness that consumes us girls and the light that saves us girls
I was always in the darkness,
Suffering trying to escape.
Lonely was the darkness,
Always dragging me in.

Will I ever escape this darkness?
That was my only thought.
Untrusting was what the darkness made me,
There was never a light to save me.

Where was my knight that would save me?
Was I even considered a princess?
Hardly, that's what the darkness made me believe,
Will I ever be saved?

My once happy thoughts turn cynical,
All because of this darkness.
Then he came along and the light appeared,
Not a bright light but a light none the less.

He came and saved me from my nightmares,
He was and is my dusk knight.
He saved me from the darkness,
And for that I am grateful and full of love for him.
