The beauty of a day is taken by betrayal.
I remember yesterday
The smell of the ocean
Waves that crashed against the rock cliff
Sweet warm rays from the high sun
The stunning daffodils in bloom
But the beauty disappeared
A friend’s shadow went away
Loyalty jumped into the sea like a suicide
Betrayal stained the waters like a blood-filled grenade
And I stood alone as the sunset came
The tides changed course when the moon rose
But tainted they remained
Then morning came and my shadow was lonesome
I remember yesterday
