dancing, key,
Captive of the Theater

A lonely little girl
Standing by the door
Giving way to strangers
Who only ask for more.

Dance, ballerina, dance
Beneath the street light
Poetry in motion
Her mother's delight.

Ask her a riddle
And she'll hand you the key
Then lie down to rest
In the arms of a dream.

Momma just thought I'd call
I'm dancing tonight
Captive of the theater
But I'll be alright.
