Michael Hutchence (1960-1997)
A glowing, sweeping incandescent sight
Darting endlessly, always in flight
Wing stroke caressing the sky
Showing others they too could fly
And those who desired to keep you bound
Manacled deep within the ground
Enmeshed within their own fears
Chaining you with their pain and tears.
And now your voice a wounded bird
Speaks only in recorded word
Through choices you made in one slight blink
Did you not know the truth of one lonely wink
“Takes but a second for your world to change”
The door once open is closed again.

Tumbling, twisting; absolute fascination
Rolling and turning, without hesitation.

A shooting star that sets the pace
A guide for all the human race
No one time or single place
Contains the life of this one soul
Whose own existence overwhelmed the whole.

Forever living and loving it all.
Does a shooting star ever truly fall?
