A poem about that significant other being your EVERYTHING and feeling them slip away...
You are my drug
You are the bug
In my head
I can’t go to bed
Lying awake
I shake
At the thought of our touch
It isn’t much
But it’s enough
To send me to the moon
…And back.

You are my trust
You are the lust
That penetrates my soul
While I hang
On every word
It sounds absurd
And every time
You lie with me
You lie to me
Your eyes deceive
But it relieves.

You are my pulse
I convulse
With every breath I take
You make
Me come alive
But what hurts inside
Runs so deep
The darkness in me
You cannot see
But I can feel
My past is real.

You are my hope
…My future
You are my Everything
But this won’t last
Time moves too fast
Watch the clock
As the days go by
I must go
It’s time to say goodbye
This isn’t the end
…Only a fresh start
Where memories fade
And love falls apart.
