A poem written during a time of deep depression.
                                                                                  Spring

Thoughts are running through my mind

Like a stream of light into my garden.

Shady areas, briefly touched,

Rustle with the unseen wind of my sighs.

My mind touches down here, on a delphinium,

Blue and drooping a little in the sun.

Moves onto the clematis trying to scrabble

Free of the weeds into the sunlight.

Some areas are ugly,

Barren of life. Flowers planted here

Last year have not survived the clawing

Winds of winter.

I put my thoughts away,

Firmly into the earth.

I tamp them down,

Maybe next year I'll bloom.
