Writers Cramp Entry
Confusion pulls eyebrows together and droops the corners of her mouth
Wrinkles grow deeper and longer
A hand with bulging knuckles and thick, blue veins ventures out warily
Hovers an inch above the squat, black mouse
Stubbornness kicks in and eyes widen with determination
Only basic instructions are desired; anything more receives a half-turn and glare

You desperately desire to show her the most efficient path to her ultimate goal: an email
You bite your tongue to withhold your instructions; they bubble up inside you, instead
Double-click, file, save, new tab, home row, hard drive, loading, streaming, buffering
You stop the hand that is subconsciously reaching out to guide the mouse
This is a lesson for you, as much as for her
Patience is a virtue, teaching is an art; you have yet to master either

Slowly confidence is gained
Words of wisdom relayed quickly before she began start to make sense
Eyebrows raised, she turns with question in her eyes: Is this right?
A nod; all she wants, just less than she really needs
Let her go on her own! chants inside your head
This is more than baby's first steps, this is grandma's first emails
