A poem I wrote for my tenth grade English class.
WHAT THE AVERAGE TEENAGE GIRL TOLD ME

That chocolate solved everything.
That school was mostly a waste of time.
That drama was more important than Physics.
That "The Breakfast Club" was the best movie.
That getting her permit would change her life.
That Jodi Picoult was the best author.
That summer was the greatest season.
That necklaces were the best accessory.
That the boy in her Science class was so cute.
That the line above was a huge secret.
That she would become a lawyer someday.
That despite what her Physics teacher told her, she would do something better with her life.
