I used this in "Seeking Hyde," attributing it to "The Lost Cinquains" of Arpad Laszlo.
I think I'm really bad at poetry. At a minimum, I'm really inexperienced. Here's an attempt at a cinquain, which consists of 22 syllables, distributed in five lines, 2, 4, 6, 8, 2. All comments welcomed.

chaos and dread,
hope, truth, and steadfast love
stitch profane to sacred between
lost souls.
