A poem of love and loss; the pain of losing someone you love.
Your heart has stopped,
You draw no breath,
My heart beats on,
But wishes for death.
Every lungful of air,
Brings me pain,
For you are gone,
You could not stay.
My chest is empty,
I have no heart,
The emptiness consumes me,
I was torn apart.
You will wake no more,
You won’t rise again,
With me by your side,
Like it should have been.
Your eyes are empty,
Your body grows cold,
I shall go soon,
For my heart you stole.
Soon I shall follow,
You to the grave,
My life you ended,
But my heart you saved.
I draw my last breath,
finally free,
A name on my lips,
For Lily
