Alone, and broken. Sometimes the only escape from anothers death is your own.
Lost in a tangle of memories
A photograph rests in hand
As eyes spy what was and what might have been
Blacks clouds converge, shadowing sickly leafless trees
Rain drops fall
No birds soar overhead, no rats stir below
The chilling winds blow
Alone waiting trepidation builds, desires compound
Life appears to continue; as all living ceases
Streets paved, shoes clacking along
In pairs, inseperable pairs
Together clacking; clacking to safety
It's dark here, one pair here
I'm scared here, one pair here
Once accepted, once safe and secure
Once now cast away, condemned to this place of desolation
To lie in solitude, not wanting anymore
Breaking are a thousand panes of glass
Shattered dreams rend flesh
Broken memories materialize, and slowly come alive
Life drip,drip,drips away
