A short free verse poem about my personal experience with pharmaceuticals
I've taken my pill to be happy
But I am sad

I've taken my pill to be skinny
But fat I remain

I've taken so many pills
I can no longer just be me

I no longer know the image in the mirror
Who is she anyway

A consumer of pills
To wake, to sleep
To eat, to not eat
To smile, to not smile
To be someone other than
The person in the mirror
