Growing up
I found this on my hard drive. I wrote it years ago in high school, not quite sure how I feel about it.

I Still Yearn for Unicorns

I still yearn for unicorns
Where has the magic gone?
There were wonders in my childhood,
But I’ve grown up and life moves on.

Do the legends truly die?
Or are they something sadly lost?
Why have people stopped believing?
Is it really worth the cost?

Looking back on years long past
There is very little I regret
I’ve made mistakes along the way
But lessons learned, I won’t forget

See the magic of the moment
Live life for the here and now
Cherish all of those who love you
And perhaps they will return somehow.
