A poem about the irony of the life of Jesus

A landlord without a place
to lay His head,
He walks in disguise.
Accused of blasphemy,
they call Him mad.

He came to suffer for us all,
making himself lower than all.
He is the anointed one,
having power higher than all.
He came to delegate it to us all.

That we would receive Him, by His word.
That we would follow Him, by His word.
That we would know Him, by His word.

That, by His word, we would have strength.
That, by His word, we would have power.
That, by His word, we would have life everlasting.

To live as He lived, we live;
not holding on to the things seen,
but making a home above,
a home promised by His word.
