Poem about my boyfriend.
I think of you and see your face,
My breathing gets heavy, and I feel out of place.

My heart starts to race like a desperate plea,
To take us back to how it used to be.

But, that could never happen, you see,
Because you've already found a new me.

So, I'm left to lay here and weep,
To wallow in the pain and cry myself to sleep.

Maybe it should be like this, maybe this is right,
Maybe I should accept it and get some sleep tonight.

But, what if I'm wrong, and giving up is dumb?
Will I still live everyday hopeless and numb?

I wish I could talk to you, I wish you were here,
Even if you did confirm my suspicions and fears.

Until then, I'll just doubt and guess,
And wear this concealing mask like a worn out party dress.
