"...til we jump the ledge,/Our bets we'll likely hedge" - a poem
In lieu of structured bravery,
A life so doomed to slavery,
Quite unspoken for and unsavory,
Like Andy Griffith’s Mayberry.

Though we may never splurge
Without the guilt, the courage
To stand tall and disparage
Is meant for future's surge.

Quite apropos, the knowledge,
But till we jump the ledge,
Our bets we'll likely hedge,
As pets poo-poo the edge.

But the echo of our screams
Mustn't challenge us like schemes
But instead, like golden beams,
For we all can live our dreams.
