"Okay, honey, This might sting for a while. I'm going to count down from three, okay?



It's awful that I must be held down to be given a shot at age fifteen. At least they don't have to use tranquilizers this time.



"Three."

She rubs a funny-smelling patch on me, and the tense builds up. Not long now! If only I could freeze time and run away.



"Two."

Oh no! Only bare milliseconds to go! Will it sting, pinch or even get stuck? Why must I have this thing?!



"One."

Panic, Panic! Do something! Bite the nurse! Wait, that might bring out the tranquilizers... She said it would sting. How much? A little or a lot?! Aaaaaaaaahh! It's happening!! The plague is among me! It burns! It burns!



"Ouch." I say.
