This is my first poem on writing.com so please don't be too critical!
Secrets told to protect
But end up leading to sin
The temptation of going astray
And the eyes set to win

Secrets to guide us through
The path to enlightenment intact
But all secrets do is simple
They exploit what mankind lacked

Secrets that are frequently shared
Through the voice into the ear
Show nothing to keep to your heart
Nor do you have anything to fear

Hold on to your heart tonight
Maybe one say I will call
But maybe all of these secrets
May benefit me after all

Secrets in the empty shadows
Secrets on the television
Secrets terrorising thoughts
Secrets hidden deep in religion

I have many secrets for sure
But I won't go as far as to say
That by revealing my darkest secrets
The world will then go my way

I do not have the patience
Nor do I have any clue
That secrets will benefit me
Nor will they benefit you

The world is camouflaged in secrets
But to keep our memories intact
Then I say just stare at the sky
The sky forever swollen black
