thoughts about a child who died


God took him to quickly away




God sent us a child today
We didn’t know how long he would stay
So we held him close and loved him
Before God took him too quickly away

Only four short hours we had him
We didn’t know that he couldn’t stay
I don’t understand why he came at all
Before God took him too quickly away

But we held him and loved him and smiled
At the child who came to stay
But such a dream was broken
When God took him too quickly away

He is no less remembered
When thinking of those who did stay
He is thought just as precious
Before God took him too quickly away
