Thoughts each day as I work
Daydreaming has become the norm.

I look outside and watch the sunlight play across the grass,

the bushes swaying in the wind,

and the birds hop and skip around.

All I can think about is how much I wish

that I was outside at that moment,

soaking up the sun and basking in its warmth

as my thoughts pour out onto a paper before me.

I finally have a chance, just a chance,

to chase my childhood dream.

It’s so close that I can almost touch it,

yet for each step closer I take,

it moves one step further away.

So it’s at those times that I wish,

that I dream,

of that moment it all becomes a reality.

I savor that moment.

I reflect on it and try to capture its memory.

I hold onto it tightly,

almost suffocating it in my grip.

Patience does not easily come to me

as I wish, and as I dream.
