A poem about someone I love.
From the murky depths of a dream I rise,
My heart quakes, my stomach heaves,
Yet I am calmed by your eyes.

You look at me inquisitively,
With a beautiful smile you wait.
As I slowly come back to reality,
The dream and its fears abate.

I shake my head with an embarrassed grin,
But you seem to understand.
I get to my feet, and suddenly, everything begins to spin.

You sit me down; turn me around,
and we begin to chat.
Laughter abounds as we lay down,
talking of this and that.

I love you more than I can say,
Dearest of my heart,
You are how I get through the day,
And make it feel like art.
