I tried to make it sound like a mother was speaking to her child. You may be surprised.
Hush now, child, and watch the stars drop their rain like liquid glass.

Watch the last light fade away, over the softening, verdant grass.

Take a breath, child, take it deep, smell the Earth and her sweet sighs,

As the moon drops her cloudy veil, dance with me and the fireflies.

Close your eyes, and listen now- listen to the chorus hum,

From the willows, and the walls, they serenade a dying sun.

Take my hand, love, walk with me, down by the waters of the lake,

Feel the petal-scented wind, leaving ripples in its wake.

Keep close, child, and watch your step- the sky is blushing darker now.

A spangled purple, laced with blue, bending blossoms to a bow.

Ah, the bells! We must run back, at our heels the shades of night,

Feast your eyes, love, but not too long, for winds blow out the candle light.
