A poem I wrote in 2003 A personification of an emotion An assignment in 9th grade
The morbid angel's wings are cracked
her stolid heart has vanished
And still, she lingers on and on
Unable to escape her own distempered torture

The fluorescence of the moonlight
Is shown upon her face
The dreadful dreams that haunt her soul
Can never be erased

Her name means hatred,
Estrangement, fatality

You cringe in dismay at her gnarled
Tainted fingers, grasping for you
Seizing your weakest spot
And grinning at your lack of sanctity

Although she's cramped and tightly bound
She remains distilled and detached deep down
Relentlessly abused,
Her mind is forever twisted

She's far from harmless,
More than dangerous
You scream in complete fear
at the sight of her tears

She is nothing but Pain herself.
