A relationship can be a war on it's own.
We've been fighting too long
I've lost the will to hold on;
I found I wasn't as strong as I let on to be.
In your eyes I'm wrong
and in your eyes I'm weak,
but your eyes don't see
clear enough to see me.

If you focus past the haze,
and let the dust motes settle,
you'll find I've packed my bags;
I'm no where to be found.
This world never was what I thought it would be.
I wave my white flag and retreat.

It's been days since we've talked;
Even longer since we've smiled.
All my problems have dissolved
I find that all I want is you back with me.
But I know, this isn't real.
You're just a dream.
When I reach out to you,
You fray at the seams.

If you focus past the haze,
and let the dust motes settle.
You'll see you were right all along.
I'm weaker than I seem.
I'll put down my guns.
I'm done with this war.
We're both losing this battle.
There's nothing left fighting for.
