Poem with Halloween theme - revised
We forget the origin of sounds so known;

         begun with a legend,

                the Erlkoenig, king of elves, coming to thy door,

         fate calling, aknocking,

Bom, bom, bom… bom… bom, bom, bom… bom,

         suddenly afraid to open that door,

         sounds so known, so beautiful,

         drawn through the ages,

         likely now just trick or treat,

Bom, bom, bom… bom… bom, bom, bom… bom,

         perhaps 'tis inevitable death,

         dare I ask, dear Beethoven,

         or is it the Erlkoenig, who knocks ere yet,

Bom, bom, bom… bom… bom, bom, bom… BOM.
