a quick poem i scribbled out. not sure what it needs.
Once I dreamed of happiness
Of stars brushing a gentle kiss o’er my cheek
Of light and radiant joy and sweetness
Pushing through the dark, the destruction, the desolation
I dreamed

Once I dreamed of freedom
Of broken shackles and shattered molds
Of love and life and everything in between
Drowning out the sound of reason
I dreamed

Once I dreamed of loving
Of soft lips and gentle touch
Of passion and fire and romance
Sweeping away the shadows and the ghosts
I dreamed

Once I dreamed of living
As if I wasn’t dying
Euphoria and laughter ringing in my soul
Reckless and fearless and careless
I dreamed

Once I dreamed of dying
Of tranquil peace and solitude
Of the soft tendrils of serenity
Whispering like a forgotten lover
Sliding into that wondrous dark
A new dream begins
