A preacher speaks to his church in rhyme. 20 lines tall and blessed.
A preacher's birthday limerick

I'd like to thank the congregation,
for keeping this chuch from stagnation,
The people make the church live,
Monetarily and Spiritually they give,
Great birthday wishes leave me in elation.

But there is one thing that bothers me,
Close your eyes and you just might see,
That people are hurting
This is no time to desert 'em
For them, the Lord can be the key,

We have to show them hope,
Push them to start climbing the spiritual rope
No promise made of a painless life,
Spiritual promises yet still strife
The Lord helps us to cope,

So let us reach out on my day,
Please show those lost souls the way,
I can't do it on my own,
But my, this church has grown,
We don't save souls for the pay.
