A poem written for a contest for love.
A lover's lament

On the day we met you smiled my heart to show,
Love's continence was illuminating a welcome glow,
Did you know you had me then at that moment
With your kindness tying my soul's splint,
Nothing better could have been heaven sent,
All my life I looked everywhere for a true love,
One as peaceful as the dove,
I found you after the floods of life
had unleashed all thier strife
Since then times of trouble
yet the happiness shines through
with the blaze of your smile I am set anew.
A prayer for others to find what was found
For a true love like ours, their hearts still pound
