A modified ghazal poem about revolution
(NOTE: This is written as a modified Ghazal. This form consists of speaker (s,) response (r,) and together (t.) In performance, couplets are spoken as such: s1 r1 s1 r1 t2. Single lines are all together. I hope that all makes sense, let me know if you need clarification.)

Do you feel the shift?
Winds blowing east turn west.

Embers from Libya burn
The waves of grain growing in our fields

While the farmers turn their eyes
Dreaming that the flames will falter.

O Great West Wind!

Ignite our flames, so we may light our torches
Not to burn, but to illuminate the great injustice in the shadow,

Let the hearth in our belly burn the red hot coals
The smoke of truth pouring from our mouths.

O Great West Wind!

Show the citizens of the world the overflowing cup of revolution
So they may drink the healing water!
